Re: What's with the term, "capture"?

I'm sorry, guys. I didn't intend to seem petty about the way I approach my work. I understand that all comments on this site are well intentioned, and complimentary. And I'm not offended by the term, "capture". I tried to be polite and tactful in my original post. My intention was to partly generate...

Re: Mirrorless......?

I've been using Sony Alpha 3000 mirrorless cameras for a couple of years now. I understand that it has an APC sensor instead of a full frame, and it was Sony's low end camera at the time. It was the best combination of capabilities and affordability at the time. Being mirrorless was just a bonus. I ...

I'm notified right away when someone clicks "like", or comments on one of my pictures.
I'm never notified when there is a forum or blog update.

Re: Question

I don't know if lowering the minimum pay out to $10 will increase traffic on the site significantly. I don't know what your ratio of users to pay outs is, but I'm guessing that a lot of us may never generate enough views to get paid. Your metrics probably show that I am a frequent visitor to your si...

Re: Featured photographers

I don't know if you are still featuring photographers, but it sounds like a good idea.
I only found out about it when I was browsing the topics in the forum.
For the record, I never get nudges from ClickASnap in the form of emails.

Re: What's with the term, "capture"?

I suppose that there is validity in your use the term. If you are photographing an event, or a news item that is unique in time, you are capturing the moment. I'm not sure that it applies to the landscape photographer, someone who shoots architecture, or the work that I do. It relies much more on in...

What's with the term, "capture"?

Often, comments about my pictures refer to them as "Captures"? Is this a recent term in the context of photography? To me,it implies that the impact of an image begins and ends at the moment of exposure, and nothing in its making of relies on intent, vision, or creative decisions before, during or a...

Re: POLL: Should images have black borders

I'm not quite sure what you mean by a border, Tom. I went to Flickr to look at some pictures, and they don't have a border until you click on them. Then, the image floats in a black background. Not really a border. I always put a thin black border around my pictures, for several reasons. 1) In the o...

Re: Image quality again

After a couple of days playing on 500PX, here are some observations: -Images do look better on 500PX. -It is such a busy site, with so many submissions, that your pictures can easily get lost in the crowd. I noted that my visibility on its version of "EXPLORE" went down to ZERO in fourteen minutes a...
