Overwrite uploads

I'd like to be able to overwrite a file/photograph that I have already got with the same file name. I don't want to have to upload the new version, find the original and then delete that, losing tags, description and Albums. I have seen things that I wanted to change with a photograph and have made improvements only to have to spend hours setting up the products again.

It is the same photograph just tweaked.

This is a lot of work if I have missed say a bird in the sky that needed to be cloned out.

I don't understand how the system can store two different files with the same file name

i’m sure it is something we can look at in the future. At the moment we have to complete our bugs and associated fixes prior to moving on to new features

The system doesn’t operate like your typical computer when storing files. Each image and its associated compressed display files are stored in a file which has a code associated with it. Therefore file names never conflict (that’s the theory anyway)

Thank you for getting back to me. That makes sense. BUT in practice, it's a lot of work when it is taking me around 5 hours per image to input products size by size, item by item and price by price.

I look forward to this being addressed in hopefully the near future. As a selling platform, it is very clunky compared with my last one Pixiset in that respect.

I will see how things go over the next 11 months before my renewal date. :)

Hi Tony,
We have a lot of work to do on the selling side and it is definitely not where i want it to be at the moment. Rest assured improvements are coming and I appreciate your patience and feedback

I agree that this would be very useful. I'm on another site that has this feature where you can substitute/replace an image and retain the likes, comments and tags.

If we see sufficient demand for kit we will certainly explore it
