Lightning Bolt

Post by jjpdesigns » Wed May 01, 2019 9:49 am

Hello -

I noticed by the EXIF info there is a lightning bolt with a number by it that seems to correspond to nothing as far as I can tell. Camera & Lens info, ISO, f-stop, shutter, focal length are all accounted for - and the number by the lightning bold doesn't seem to change if I use or don't use a flash... pretty much it seems to be 16 on all my shots - though I see various other numbers on other people's photos. Does anyone know what that number by the lightning bolt means?

Thanks!

It’s flash duration, but for some cameras it means the flash is on and for some it means the flash is off. EXIf information is something that needs refining as there is no common standard unfortunately
