Crimson Star Columbine (Aquilegia Red Hobbit) Flowers, Taken with Focus Stacking Method
A graceful perennial, with blue-green foliage. Their flowers are the center of attention. A wealth of flowers in sun or shade, aquilegias also make good cut flowers. Outstanding color, outstanding plant. Brilliant red petals surround a pure white corolla with piercing red 'eyes'.
Focus stacking is a technique where you focus at the closest point, take image, adjust focus a little, take image and so on. I used eight images for this shot. The images are then combined in software to give front to rear sharpness. Although this was shot on a macro lens, this technique can also work on landscape images for front to back focus.
