Marri Dyin is walking tall, with a lot of help

VIVID Festival 2019 in Sydney. The leading lady is a 6 m tall illuminated textile sculpture called Marri Dyin (Great Woman), essentially one giant puppet with a handler on each limb and a cart behind to provide support, power for the light and gentle murmuring sounds as her voice. Marri Dyin is not a traditional indigenous spirit but a contemporary concept, recognising the importance of Aboriginal women who lived in the Sydney region.

You said my cactus photo was from your nightmares. This lady looks to be from my nightmares. She looks pretty scary but from your description I assume she is a nice and good woman not to be feared..., or messed with. ;-) ISO 2000 photos came out very nicely. :-)

Point taken, Mark. This one is definitely cuddlier. ISO is not a big issue due to the amount of black and the speckled blue. I had the settings pretty much sussed by this the last photo I took because I had to wait for a long time until the interaction with the children and the fishies was over. It took Marri Dyin some time to stand up, too, I would not like to think of how painful arthritis can be when you are six metres tall!

Great series. That must have been something to see live and up close. Cool.

Thank you, Butch! Also for the share. I tried something different with this uploading of a series, it only took me three attempts...
