Kayakers in front of Aialik Glacier, Kenai Fjords National Park, Alaska

The Aialik Glacier is a tidewater glacier in the Kenai Fjords National Park, Alaska. It is one of the most actively calving glaciers in the park. Shortly after this photo was taken there was a huge calving. Luckily the kayakers had moved away to a safer area.

Great shot! Some people are crazy with the risks they are prepared to take.

Thank you for the kind comment. Yes people do take risks but I'm certain these guys had a guide with them.

Shared this one again. I'm surprised that this doesn't have more views or likes. It's a fantastic photo. The people in the boat illustrate the vastness of the glacier.

Returned to share this one. How long will we have that kind of scenery? :-(

Thank you for sharing! I agree, I feel very honoured to have been to Alaska and to have seen such a beautiful wild country. We must preserve it and all wilderness..
