DEVON GREEN LANE

One of Devon's typical sunken leafy green lanes. With their high hedge banks and overhanging trees they create a verdant tunnel. It is believed they originated as ancient thoroughfares for packhorses or drovers. They are a haven for wildlife and biodiversity. Taken one summer near Hartland, North Devon, SW England, UK.
