Angkor Wat – Contemplation outside

The same monk as in the previous photograph, now outside in one of the many courtyards to provide scale for our photos... It had started to rain and our fearless leaders suggested that we wait out the storm in what used to be the Library of the temple complex.

Great series from Angkor :) this one is special, love the dot of colour in the mostly dark environment.

Thank you, Michael. Mike had taken a photo of a young monk running down those steps in a previous year, so not only were we sheltered from the rain (sort of), we also hoped for a repeat situation – close enough. I have more shots similar to this one, might upload some in a few months' time as a "refresher".

Love this contrast between the building and the monk. Great capture and shared.

Great use of scale, It's a shame the conditions were a little gloomy, because under slightly stronger light, his robes would have stood out more strongly against the building, which I think would have looked fantastic.

Thank you, jezprime. Feel free to take a screenshot and move that orange saturation slider to your liking, just do not claim the resulting photo as your own! ;-)
