Imiloa is the name of the astronomy center. Imiloa means both explore and explorer. These are the buildings that house exhibits, planetarium and blends science and indigenous culture. Taken at sunrise.

Such beautiful colo! Also, interesting perspective. Were you on a hill when you shot this?

Thank you Annette. I was on a hill just above and sideways of this structure and before I arrived I knew I could not get close and that's why I took a telephoto lens.

Love the pyramid shapes and the hint of the sun in the orange hue. I could spend some time exploring here.

Thank you Joanne. Thank you for sharing my picture. It's a very interesting place and ancient Hawaiians navigated by the stars to locate Hawaii so the roots of astronomy run very deep into Hawaiian culture. Certainly worthy of exploration at the center here :)

Great shape and color Joe,triangles are always pleasing to the eye. Made it even more interesting by the difference in size of the two buildings. Great change of pace:).

Thank you so much, vision. The structures are supposed to represent the two main mountains here and the larger mountain actually has 13 telescopes from countries as far away as the Netherlands.
