Believe

I was looking for a place to camp, but the place I found was filled up so I continued down the road. As it was getting cloudy and dark, I felt pressure to find a place to set up camp. I came across this place unplanned and unexpected and then the sun broke through just before it set for the night. It was so beautiful, I stayed till it was nearly pitch black not caring where I would sleep. In the darkness I found a road that led to a government campground that was free! I should know by now that I can trust and believe that everything works out. Canyonlands National Park, Utah

Life on the road is often about following the advice of the voices in your head. You can't plan out every little detail.

Wow Joe! Spectacular photo!!! I love that place and was hoping to make it back there earlier this year but wound up in southern AZ instead. So I still need to go back there. I haven't been to the "needles" section of the canyonlands yet so I need to make it there. Wonderful light, wonderful capture. !!!!

Thank you very much, Mark! Arizona is great too! The southwest has so many natural beauties to explore and good for us many of these places are protected. But, I learned that Obama established Bears Ears National Monument in Utah and then Trump reduced this National Monument by 85% I don't know the politics behind the reasoning, but I'm guessing it was something to do with money. Thank you for commenting, liking and sharing!

You are right Joe. They want to mine in the Bears Ears Monument so they get their way with trump. I believe he also greatly reduced the protected area in the Grand Staircase Escalante Natl Monument. That is also a spectacular area that should be protected, It's an awful shame what's happening.

Thank you very much, Colin. I agree clouds are attractive. Lucky for me that weather blows from west to east across the US and the campground was on the west side, so no rain for me. Thank you for commenting, and share.

Are you sure that's in Utah and not on Mars? Fantastic rugged landscape, and that play between the clouds and light in the sky is wonderful. Glad you found somewhere to set up the tent though!
