In the Nick

I got this shot in the nick of time before the farmer arrived on his tractor to collect the bales up. I’ve wanted to photograph some large, round bales for a while, but they are hard to find. Apparently, the farmers in this area don’t like the round bales because they don’t give the animals a square meal.

But the round ones offer a more rounded diet which is also important!

    I can't believe I just wrote that ;-)

Denise is right. Such a dad joke. I'm a Dad and it made me LOL. Irene described its qualities so well. I will simply say it's a really beautiful image.

Thanks, yes the image is full of leading lines and geometric shapes and the light fell just right on the other side of the valley.

["Groan" for the puns.] "Wow" for everything else. Gorgeous toning; the path leads straight to the area in the background where the sunlight is playing. Wall in the foreground and fields in the background create triangles meeting in the middle, then our eye can rest on that cylindrical hay bale. The gentle variations of tones in the clouds add interest to the negative space, which by definition ensures that we focus on the lower third of the frame. I do hope that you will create more captures in the nick... Thanks for sharing this one.
