The English Lake District - Quiet contemplation in St Olaf's Church

The smallest church near the deepest lake and the highest mountain in England. This little church is set amidst yew trees in the Viking fields of Wasdale. In the churchyard are the graves of many climbers who died on the surrounding fells. The roof beams are thought to have come from Viking ships.

Thanks Butch. Fortunately I had EddieM available to "model" for me! I'd like to take credit for the write up but, to be fair, it's lifted from the internet.

Wow! Such a contrast to the big cathedrals. Reckon I could easily sit there for a little while.

That's what we thought but it was warmer outside! It was bloomin' cold in there.

I could imagine! We have some churches here in Tassie that are like that. . . . nothing too warm about them physically. Just as well the people often are!
