Comfort Zone

Comfort Zone. I’m not a believer in comfort zones, there’s no hard definition of what one is and there’s no evidence that getting out of a comfort zone is good for you. I think that if you enjoy something then do more of it. When it comes to photography should we get out of our comfort zones? I enjoy landscape photography; a Heron flew past and I took a picture of it. To me, it’s just another picture but some people may say it’s outside my comfort zone? Well, let’s see how much my landscape photography improves from now on! When I say it flew past and I took a picture, that’s not quite true, I’ve taken a few pictures of it over the last few years that were crap.

Thanks. I was lucky to get this image and I'm pleased with it but it's not been my most popular.

That's strange. But I get it. There are photos which I like personally and I think it's a good shot – you always know the efforts that you put in, others don't.

According to the internet we are all supposed to get out of our comfort zones.

Panning is difficult... but worth trying :-) I have to admit I don't dare too much with it :-)

I got lucky, my camera settings were for something else entirely although I'm not sure what settings I'd have used? 1/60 sec actually turned out well but I normally use auto ISO when I'm unsure?

Panning is one of the situations where the learning curve is definitely with lots of try-and-errors :-)
