Every Four Hours

Every Four Hours. This little lamb is called Jeremy, but he has earned the nickname “Tiny, Shouty Lamb” because he is very small and very loud. Peter is bottle feeding him every four hours because he is too small to feed from his mother and his two older sisters who are much bigger than him bully him. Tiny Shouty could be the smallest Soay lamb ever? Sadly, I’ve found out on my last visit to Elysium that Jeremy died.

This, too, could become a classic. A nice memory to Jeremy-Tiny-Shouty who was given a fighting chance by Peter with the soft, bushy beard.

Thank you. Peter did give him a fighting chance and this illustrates why Peter is one of the nicest people I've met

Thank you and thanks for sharing. Peter and Tricia run a farm called Elysium in an area called Hades above Holmfirth, West Yorkshire. They specialize in Soay sheep, which is a rare, primitive, sheep similar to the ancestors of modern sheep. You can find hem on Facebook, they love visitors. That's the long answer, the short answer is: in the barn.

Thanks and thanks for sharing. The barn was very dark so I used an off-camera flash at half power, held by Peter's wife, Tricia. I got a lot of light reflecting off the bottle which I toned down in LR

Thanks and thanks for sharing. When it comes to portraits I'm a bit of "a one trick pony": I like them low-key. Tricia, Peter's wife, kindly held the flash for me on this image.

Such a beautiful and tender, vulnerable kind of image. The fragility of life as animals so very often show us. Thank you Jeremy - Tiny Shouty Lamb!
