Tonight's the Night

Tonight’s the Night. The bad news for Salmon is that they only spawn once in their life, but the good news is, tonight’s the night! Leaping Salmon, Falls of Feugh near Banchory, Scotland.

Patient is a virtue! Well done, Howard, I have yet to "catch" a bee or dragonfly in flight, therefore, it will be a while until salmon is on my list, at least it is on my plate occasionally.

Thanks, I don't feel that wildlife photography is my forte but I do have patience. As for diet: the recommendation is two portions of oily fish per week.

That covers our diet. I am glad that I do not need to catch these dietary recommendations myself, though!

Thanks, I set my camera up on the tripod and locked the settings then used my cable release to activate the shutter when I saw a fish jump. I was there for about an hour and took about 100 images, about 3 had a fish nicely visible.

Well done on not cheating and blending the 3 images to make it look more impressive. Which I certainly would have done. Than maybe added a black bear for good measure

I don't think there are an black bears in Scotland any more?
