Why the sky is blue and sunrises and colorful sunsets
Closer to the horizon, the sky fades to a lighter blue or white. Sunlight comes to us by passing through a thicker layer of air.
When the air is clear at sunset or sunrise, it will appear yellow because the sunlight has gone longer and the blue light will dissipate more than the red and the yellow. If the air is contaminated with small particles, the sunset will be red. Sunset over the sea can be orange because of salt particles in the air that effectively dissipate the blue color. The sky around the sun is more red, and the light coming directly from the sun looks red. This is because all the light differs relatively well through small angles, but the blue light is likely to be displaced twice or more compared to the yellow and red colors, leaving yellow, red, and orange colors.
