The Magpie, another bird within the "Corvidae" family of birds "Corvids". Highly intelligent birds and quite hard to get close enough to get a decent photo at times. They can also be quite tricky to photograph due to there mainly black feathers and more wary than a lot of smaller birds.

Anyway, enough of the science and technical stuff, great birds to catch with there flashes of blue on the wings...similar to Jays, I am talking about the European varieties, as I know Jays do look different around the globe. But back to fun local football is nicknamed after these birds. Newcastle United - The Magpies.

I was browsing the Science category & this photo pops up...Slightly confused lol. Anyway, I love Pica pica's & I've been having a difficult time recently trying to capture them to photograph, they just don't want to pose for me! But this is a really lovely shot, love how the background is.& the branch Pica pica is sitting on. Just an all round fab photo! :)

Thank you for your kind comments. They and other "crows" can be tricky to photo, they too smart for there own good. Food helps and somewhere to perch above it, let bird come to you. Then it's time and patience sitting still ;)
