SNOW ON THE BEECH DEVON

Unusually early (November) snow here in Devon last week coated these majestic old beech trees in local woodland. There were still a few leaves dotted amongst the branches which can just be seen giving little splashes of autumnal colour. I never tire of how a layer of snow instantly transforms everything into another world .... a quiet and magical winter wonderland.
