Moon Rearview Mirror on Hwy 78 Imperial Valley California

I was cruising in hwy 78 Brawley California when I saw it flash in my rearview mirror—pure magic happening just after the sun had gone down. The sky was split in half: electric sunset orange on one side, and deep, night blue on the other with the moon hanging out like a pearl. That divided light show over the date palm grove was impossible to ignore. I had to stop. I pulled over violently, grabbed my camera, and ran across the dirt shoulder. I got the shot right before the two colors finally blended. Sometimes, the best views are the ones you almost miss.
