Echoes of Justice: The Old Village Lock-up

Step back into the criminal history of West Yorkshire with this shot of the Luddenden Village Lock-up. Located on the boundary of two historic townships, these dual cells feature original stone lintels inscribed with "MIDGLEY" and "WARLEY", indicating which side of the village line the offender fell under.

The weathered stone, heavy iron-clad doors, and ancient padlocks tell a story of 19th-century law and order in the heart of the Luddenden Valley. A perfect piece for fans of British heritage, local history, and rustic stone architecture.
