A traditional built wall, who knows how old, seperates the extensive churchyard from open clifftop moorland. Built from locally sourced slate, in an alternating pattern for strength using only gravity and skillful stone selection, without using any cement.
An ingenious way of using local materials with minimal resources. The wall stretches over 200M wide & around 500M long in a large rectangle. A monumental effort with beautiful results.
