Howard and friends

This is Howard our duck, he is out for a stroll on our little farm. He and his ducky friends, Pee Wee and Little Girl, are hunting the big pasture for yummy bugs to eat as the sun sets behind them for the day. We raised Howard, Pee Wee, and Little Girl up since they were the tiniest cutest little yellow balls of fluff. It is so cute to watch them waddle around the pasture.

Their favorite activity is to take a swim around the little pond on our farm. When they bathe themselves they love to duck down under the water repeatedly to get the cool water all over their heads and back. They will rub their heads on their wings and back to help clean them. When they are done with their bath they will spread their wings and rapidly flap them as if they were flying to dry themselves off. Their ducky feathers are super white and so very soft. I love to pick them up and pet them, they love to be petted as much as I love to pet them. Pee Wee is our most cuddly duck. He will lay his little head on my shoulder and rest for a little while.

When we bring them treats they get so excited and waddle as fast as they can to come and see what we have for them. You cannot help but to smile and maybe even giggle a little at their silliness. Their favorite treats to eat are freeze dried meal worms and crickets. Meal worms and crickets are a deliciously healthy treat for ducks and chickens too Meal worms and crickets are packed full of protein and other vitamins and minerals that ducks need to stay healthy. They will happily eat the worms and crickets right from our hands.
